Client Case Study Raquel Hellenga - When I Grow Up

Client Case Study Raquel Hellenga - When I Grow Up Um, do you know that Ive coached hundreds of women since I started offering dream career guidance in 2008? And that these women are freakin rock stars, leaving soul-sucking jobs and traveling the world and launching creative, grown-up businesses and simply doing work that fits their lifestyle goals? Well ya do now and youll hear their stories firsthand in my  Client Case Studies series!  Raquel Hellenga is killing it. An alum of the summer 2018  Discover Your Dream Business  program, her  coaching business for chronically ill creatives  has taken off in a big way! At the end of our 8 weeks together, she had *five* clients and its only grown from there. Read on to hear how she did it and whats ahead for this brand new business owner and overall inspiring human. Why did you decide to work with me? I decided to work with you because of how relatable you are. I had been following your work for a number of years as a lurker in the background. I knew I liked your no BS attitude about starting your own business, and that you cherished your life outside of your business as well. As someone with a chronic illness its super important that I work with a coach that understands the importance of rest and balance. You are also a huge performance art creative and multipotentialite like me, so I knew it would be a perfect match. What were you doing work-wise when we started working together and what are you doing now? When we started working together I was working an insane amount as a college communication instructor. While Im still doing that, Ive drastically reduced my workload in order to focus more on my budding business! I am a life and business coach for chronically ill creatives and am enjoying steady, manageable growth in my business since launching in summer 2018. What was your biggest takeaway from our work together? That running a successful business is really not as hard as it seems. For instance, when I started the Discover Your Dream Business program I couldnt IMAGINE actually having a coaching session with a client and was honestly terrified to do so. By the end of the program, FIVE of the participants in the program became my clients. Two of which I am still working with on an ongoing basis. My hunch about being a good coach was right, and I wouldnt have figured that out without Michelles guidance. Think of someone who is currently in the shoes you wore when we first started working together. What advice do you have for her? Find a way to invest in your dreams NOW, not later. Whether youre only able to invest time, or a little bit of money, or have to save up for months in order to get the support you need, youre worth it. While following your dreams can be difficult, its way more difficult to spend your life convincing yourself your ideas are no good. Is there anything thats been a game-changer for you when it comes to your business that you can share? Wed love a good resource or a mindset/productivity tip! Ive learned that my number one asset in landing clients is my personality and that the more I can show that to the world the more my people will be drawn to me. Dont be afraid to put your unadulterated self out there! Whats on the horizon for your business? Wed love to hear about any upcoming offerings or goals!   Right now Im looking for the right people to fill my 1-on-1 client roster in 2019. I offer a 90-day 1-on-1 program for people with chronic illnesses or other health challenges who are looking to start their online business and figure out how that all works together with their health limitations. If you have big business dreams, a creative streak, a great sense of humor, are willing to go deep, and are frustrated by your health limits, contact me to set up a free 30-minute discovery call ASAP! There are so many ways to achieve what you want while dealing with health problems. Where can we find you and your work?
